This will no doubt be one of those modifications that people will either rave about, saying how great they think it is, or rant about how much they hate it. We came across this fresh thread on Camaro5 about a 5th Gen Camaro that is having deck stripes put on entirely with a Sharpie marker. You read that correctly – the same writing utensil that you doodled on your shoes with during those long, boring days in middle school is being used to lay down some rather unique artwork on a brand new Camaro.
The work is being done by Camaro5 member “Pinstripe Chris”, and he says that after the customer saw the initial Poll Thread on Camaro5, they wanted it done to their car so badly that they drove the Camaro from Little Rock, Arkansas to Chris’s shop in Gaithersburg, Maryland – that is well over a 1,000 mile drive for those of you who might be wondering. Chris says that he already has about 12 hours in the sharpie work on the front of the car, and still has plenty to do before the final clear coat gets sprayed -Sharpies are “permanent” only in the sense that they won’t wash off your hallway walls when your toddler finds them, not when they are exposed to the elements.
Whether you think the idea is amazing, or if you want to start screaming about how someone just ruined the finish on their Camaro, (I personally wouldn’t do it to my brand new car) you still have to admit that the design and attention to detail is actually pretty remarkable.
