Police Pursuit Vehicle Caprice Hits the Dyno With A Supercharged 427

Jeremy Formato and the gang at Fasterproms have been busy with several projects over the past few months. Not only do they help Garrett Mitchell (Cleetus McFarland) out with all of his crazy builds, they also have some wild rides of their own. We recently covered their “poor man’s Hoonnigan S10” while we were out at LS Fest East, which is a wild project. The project that we are going to talk about today is a little more down to earth, but still a cool build.

The car of choice for this build is a Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle, also known as a PPV. Some time back, the vehicle known as Uncle Sam was purchased and was in pretty rough shape. The guys worked on the engine, cleaned it up, and installed a host of Brian Tooley go-fast goodies. However, this combination was short-lived as problems began to arise from the factory engine. This build for the Fasterproms has not been an easy one, and now the car has had several different engine combinations, fueling system problems, and electrical gremlins.

The latest combination for the PPV and the most powerful to date is a 427 cubic-inch engine from BTR mated to a TREMEC T56 manual transmission. The engine is built for boost, and that is precisely what Jeremy needed for the power goals of the ex-police car and dependability. At only 10-pounds of boost, the LSA blower on the 427 cranks out an impressive 808 horsepower and a monstrous 759 lb-ft of torque.

You can see Jeremy ripping on Uncle Sam in the rain at the end of the video, but we want to see this thing at the track. It’s sure to surprise a lot of people, including Camaro and Corvette owners. We don’t doubt that this combination is capable of 9s, our question is, how deep in the 9-second range will it go.

You can check out the entire evolution of this build on the FasterProms YouTube channel.
