For those yearning to get their classic or contemporary American muscle car back on track in a highly competitive environment, the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) developed a series to get the most out of your Camaro, Challenger, Corvette, GTO, Mustang, or other beast. Big power, big tires, relaxed rules mixed with strict weight restrictions will make the CAM Challenge events enjoyable yet hotly-contested.

The SCCA CAMS Challenge welcomes modern and classic muscle cars to compete in their own autocross categories
The Tire Rack CAM Challenge Powered by SCCA has three different classes for muscle cars. The late model cars are placed in the CAM C category. With the “C” standing for Contemporary, this class sees car and truck body styles from 1990-on, plus CAM T class cars. In this group, the mandated minimum weight without driver is 3,300 lbs.
The CAM T group may see the greatest showing, as it encompasses four decades—including the glory years of the American muscle car. “T” stands for traditional in this instance, and the mandated minimum weight is 3,000 pounds without driver.
The CAM S includes sports cars, sedans/coupes, and trucks with seating for 2 or more adults. The weights get a little more complicated here; minimum weight for 1984+ Corvettes and Vipers is 2900 lbs., while the minimum weight for all other cars is 2500 lbs.

The 2019 SCCA CAM Challenge will run across seven events with the finals held in conjunction with the Solo II Nationals
