Everyone is gearing up to see the latest offerings from Chevrolet, and this year’s SEMA show is sure to satisfy Bow Tie fans far and wide. We were afforded a glimpse of the Sixth Generation Camaro, and some of the Chevy aftermarket performance parts that will accompany this new addition to the lineup.

Reporting from the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada we are here to bring you the breaking info on the latest generation of Chevrolet Performance. With two clean specimens on display and a handful of key players in the Camaro’s conception on hand, we are eager to see these machines in action.

The styling of the Sixth Gen is striking in person. Aggressive styling is echoed throughout the car. The snarling expression of the headlights, like a dissaproving brow line, the Sixth Gen looks at you through challenging eyes. The vented hood is complimented by a double-bubble roof line, and pronounced rear fender creases hide the big rubber lurking under the bodywork.

Aftermarket performance part options are a holistic package of power, handling, and braking. On display were Chevrolet’s newly announced cold air induction system, and high-flow axle-back exhaust. Chevrolet boasts an improvement of 17 percent less restriction with the 2016 Camaro Performance Air Intake, helping the new LT1 inhale with minimal restriction.

How a car sounds is as important a characteristic as any other personal expression the owner may make. In order to improve the exhale side of the Camaro powerplant Chevrolet has engineered the 2016 Camaro Performance Exhaust for both V8 and V6 models.

Constructed from TIG-welded 304 stainless steel, and featuring 2 3/4-inch or 2 1/4-inch tubing (for the V6) these mufflers reduce restriction by 25 percent over stock, according to Chevrolet. Four-inch polished tips cap off the appearance, and assert the rumbling presence of the SS Camaro.

On the braking and handling side of things, Chevrolet has built two packages to please the road-course warrior lurking under the musclecar pretense.

Make no mistake, the SS Camaro is billed to be as much a road racer as any other track-bred sports car. Taking car of the braking side of the aftermarket support is a set of Brembo rotors and calipers for both SS, and other Camaro engine configurations. For the smaller brother to the SS front calipers measure 345 mm in diameter and 30 mm in thickness for a large surface area, and heat dissapation capacity. Employing four-piston calipers and performance pads, these brakes are sure to help the stopping power of the Gen Six. SS Brembo rotors will measure a whopping 370 mm, and include six-piston monoblock aluminum calipers.

According to Chevrolet, “The Duralife rotors feature a hardened surface to reduce corrosion and provide quieter braking with less vibration.”

The last offering we found for the 2016 Camaro will be a treat to anyone looking to improve the stance and lower the center of gravity. The 2016 Camaro Lowering Kit employs higher rate front and rear coil springs paired with appropriately valved shock absorbers. Chevrolet reports and effect of up to 20 mm drop and improved handling feel.
