At this year’s SEMA show, we knew we had to stop by the Toyo Tires booth to check out their display for the year. Located in what is known as the “Wheel and Tire Hall” many of the tire companies have some outstanding displays along with customized vehicles and their exciting newest products. Fortunately, for 2015 Toyo was no exception.
The booth was lively with a number of new tires ranging from lightweight Proxes road racing tires, to the massive off-road tires suited for the harsh deserts of the Baja peninsula.
During our visit, we had the opportunity to speak with Jay Jones, at Toyo Tires who explained, “Our newest product is what is known as a variable conditions tire. This tire is part of an entirely new tire family, called Celsius which has the three-peek-mountain snowflake on the sidewall, showing that it’s perfect for winter. This tire is perfect for winter, yet it maintains a 60,000-mile treadwear warranty.”
Jones continued, “A lot of people who have two sets of tires for the their vehicles often find themselves caught in a condition with the wrong tire on the vehicle. They may have had some warm, dry weather and put their street tires on, then get caught in a snow storm on the way home from work. Additionally, those people who drive up to ski resorts from warmer locations can now have the best of both worlds for whatever conditions they run into.”
We believe the Celsius tire will be quite useful to many people in the snowy states, and we were more than happy to check out the awesome cars in their booth as well!
