The C8 ZR1 at the 2024 Corvettes At Carlisle Car Show

For any Corvette enthusiast, young and old, the Corvettes at Carlisle Car Show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, cannot be missed. Every year, this car show is hosted in the summer to celebrate America’s favorite sports car. This year, it is a three-day action-packed event from Thursday, August 22nd, to Saturday, August 24th. This year’s big news is that Team Chevrolet will be there with the C8 ZR1 at the 2024 Corvettes at Carlisle Car Show.

There is something for everyone at the Corvettes at Carlisle Car Show, from C1 to C8!

If you haven’t heard the buzz coming out of Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the past couple of weeks, let us fill you in on what the 2025 ZR1 Corvette is all about. Chevrolet is bringing back the ZR1 nameplate for the latest generation Corvette, and the news of its power figures and performance has set the automotive world ablaze. The previous generation ZR1 was the last hurrah for the front-engine rear-wheel drive Corvette with the 755 supercharged LT5 V8. Still, the new ZR1 will produce 309 more horsepower with a twin-turbo version V8 based on the C8 Z06 engine’s architecture.

The 2025 C8 ZR1 was built to put European hypercars on notice.

The 5.5-liter, flat-plane crank DOHC V8 will produce 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. The engine’s redline is an impressive 8,000 rpm, and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with hardened and upgraded guts compared to its Z06 brother transfers all this power to the rear wheels, all on pump-gas, no all-wheel drive, and no hybrid assist whatsoever.

The first time a major manufacturer released a production car to the public that made more than 1,000 horsepower on the same 91-octane you could pick up at your local gas station was the Bugatti Veyron almost two decades ago. A limited-production European hypercar with a hefty price tag of one million dollars. And now Chevrolet is going to produce a Corvette, making more power for a fraction of that price. It’s no wonder everyone can’t stop talking about it.

Not only can guests see the ZR1 in person, but they can also hear all about it from Team Chevrolet, see it in motion, and hear its unique exhaust note. There are also planned tech sessions on the ZR1 with certified GM Technician Paul Koerner. Koerner will discuss its humble 1970 beginnings through the boom of its rage and power in 2025. Learn about the technology, balance, and luxury that make the ZR1 so amazing to drive and own.

Team Chevrolet is just one fantastic element of Corvettes at Carlisle 2024. There’s a planned Challenge Car reunion, including nearly a dozen drivers from the original series, a 50-year display of 1974 Corvettes, Chip’s Choice, which is focusing on “Mean Corvettes” this year, plus some fun with C4s, the NCRS Gallery, NCCC Judging, and more. Finally, as guests enjoy all that 2024 has to offer, including the ZR1, they should quickly make plans for next year, as it’s been confirmed that Chip’s Choice will make the ZR1 its central focus. So, mark your calendars and do not miss the C8 ZR1 at the 2024 Corvettes at Carlisle car show.
