If there is one thing that can be said for new owners of C8 Corvettes, they have certainly had their fair share of delivery issues. Production of C8 Corvettes has been hindered by almost every kind of stoppage possible. Everything from union strikes, part shortages, and even the entire globe getting the flu have played a part in slowing the flow of Corvettes leaving the Bowling Green, Kentucky assembly plant. Sorrowfully, we can add one more hindrance to the flow. Yesterday, May 4, 2023, a truckload of C8 Corvettes was rear-ended as they were headed to their respective dealers. This isn’t the first time a batch of Corvettes has felt the communal weight of fate. Back in 2014, six Corvettes made national news when they literally, fell victim to a sinkhole that formed under the National Corvette Museum.

The impact appears to be quite severe to those Corvettes on the rear of the transporter. No doubt they will be going in for a touch-up or evaluation of their roadworthiness.
This latest accident happened on Interstate 64 in the Harrison County area of southern Indiana. The Indiana State Police report that at around 4 pm, the Corvette-carrying semitrailer was merging onto the interstate and trying to get up to speed when it was rear-ended by another, faster-moving semi. As you can see, the impact was quite severe and we’ve no doubt that several of these Corvette owners will have to wait a little longer for their new car.
Sadly, the driver of the overtaking truck was pronounced dead at the hospital. No other details were given as to why the two trucks collided. Our condolences go out to the friends and family of the deceased driver.
