If anyone knows how to promote an event, it surely is UFC President Dana White. The incredibly popular mixed martial arts competition organization often lends its support to charity and this past weekend in Las Vegas saw their efforts come together at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event there.
We told you last week that UFC had teamed up with Findlay Customs to build a limited edition UFC Camaro, whose sale would benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The Camaro featured a 650hp powerplant, lowered suspension and more. Other distinguishing additions include a 2000-watt sound system, custom paint and UFC ‘fight glove’ seats with suede headliner.
The 6.2-liter V8 Camaro rolled across the auction block in prime time, driven by UFC Hall of Famer Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell. By the time the bidding was done, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund was increased by $350,000. IFHF a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for the families of United States military personnel injured or lost in performance of their duty.
The winning bidders told auction officials that they are huge UFC fans and are thrilled with the collectible UFC Camaro. A total of ten UFC Camaros will be built. The first one was auctioned at Barrett-Jackson’s Orange County collector car auction in June.
