With gas prices starting to skyrocket once more, consumers are looking for fuel-friendly transportation.  New, higher Corporate Average Fuel Economy regulations are coming in 2016, forcing manufacturers to produce vehicles with an average of 39 MPG for cars and 30 MPG for light trucks.  Consumers look for a good way to save on gas and have a powerful sporty-looking car.

Though fuel economy is typically associated with slow cars and import brands, everybody has to play by the same CAFE rules in the US market, and Ford, Chrysler, and Chevy have all brought out V6 versions of their new pony cars to offset the lower fuel economy of the V8 cars. It’s not all bad news, though – the V6 Camaro is rated at 29 MPG and still makes 300 horsepower.

Over on Camaro5.com we found an owner that took his 2010 Camaro V6 to the next level, almost breaking into the elevens in the quarter mile, with a 12.01 @ 113 mph. Although this owner’s Camaro is not stock by any means, it still runs very impressive times for a V6.

Some of the modification on this V6 Camaro include a cold air intake system, high flow cats with a cat-back exhaust system from an LS3 Camaro, and some suspension parts.  One of the biggest mods is the Zex nitrous system – did we mention that he runs on 92 octane pump gas?  The power is put to the ground on a set of 18-inch wheels wrapped in Hoosier drag radial tires.

This Camaro has more power left in it, and we’re looking for some 11-second passes in 2011.
