Weld Racing is synonymous with winning, racing and forged wheels. Since 1967, Weld Racing has been producing wheels for racing, street performance, truck and off-road applications that have been at the top of the podium more than any other wheel manufacturer. It is by far the world’s most race-winning wheel manufacturer.
But what does that really mean to you and me, the guys and gals who use our rigs during the week and then play on the weekend? It means Weld knows how to build quality wheels that work. Racing teams like those in the NHRA Pro Stock class aren’t afraid to spend money on top quality parts because when they have hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line, and something breaks such as a wheel, a vehicle can get totaled. So Weld Racing makes sure its wheels last and work under the most extreme conditions. Its wheels must work on even the most high-horsepower cars that would easily twist and break an inferior wheel.
One of the things Weld is known for is manufacturing its street wheels to the same high quality standards and on the same production line as the racing wheels. To Weld there is no difference and the company is focused on high quality every time they build any wheel.
Recently, Weld created the video above. It shows some of the CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings of Weld wheels and then takes the viewer out onto the production floor for a brief overview of the entire process of making a wheel from a blank to the finished product. Now obviously, these aren’t all the same wheel, but it is cool to see some of the processes and testing they do.
