Video: An Exclusive Sneak Peek of Project X-Box, a 1500hp ’55 Chevy

In the world of hot rods, the go-to Chevy for enthusiasts is almost always a 1950s Tri Five. Nothing is more iconic or distinguishable even to those who don’t know much about cars. But the 1955 Chevy that owner of ProRides, Denny Terzich is working on is not just any old Tri Five. Check out this awesome pro-touring Chevy in the works in the video above, compliments of Summit Racing and their blog OnAllCylinders.com.

While ProRides has had their hand in many unique hot rod builds over the years, including a number of magazine feature cars, Terzich wanted to get back to the pro-touring scene with his latest creation. So with the help of a number of local fab shops and industry-leading manufacturers, Terzich is turning his ’55 Chevy into one hell of a pro-touring beast. The project has been dubbed Project X-Box.

In addition to tons of custom fab work, from the chopped roof and tilted B-pillars to the flipped front and rear bumpers, custom air intake and rear wing, the Chevy is set to feature products from big names like ProCharger, Art Morrison, Currie, and Wilwood.

Powering the pro-touring beast is a 427ci LSX-based engine topped off with an ProCharger F2 supercharger. According to Terzich, this combination will produce around 1500hp, throwing 1200 of that to the rear wheels. Helping the car do that is a custom 6-speed, paddle-shift transmission tied to a built Currie 9-inch rearend.

Underneath the car, you’ll find an Art Morrison chassis with a 5-link setup. Supporting this are brand new Billet Specialties forged wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich 275 and 345-series tires. Stopping power for the car will be handled by 14-inch Wilwood brakes with 6-piston calipers.

Truly an amazing work of art, Terzich’s Chevy is set to make its debut at the Goodguys 17th PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio running from July 11th through the 13th. Until then, enjoy the snippets of information Terzich has shared in the sneak peek video above!
