Video: Billet Specialties Is American Made, And All About Passion

Billet Specialties has been a staple in the performance automotive community for more than three decades, and they continue to innovate and maintain relevance in a constantly evolving market. Their brand is the mark of quality, and when you talk to someone about new wheels or accessories for their car, they either have Billet Specialties parts or they want them.

The Billet Specialities brand owes a lot of its cache to the wheels they make. There's a lot to be said about the design quality and look of a good set of wheels!

If you have ever wondered what goes on behind their closed doors, this video is a great window into the inner workings of the company. You get to see snapshots of their design department, manufacturing department, and a little bit of their home showroom. What’s even better, is you get to hear some of the philosophy that’s made Billet Specialties what it is today.

Glenn Grozich, the president of Billet Specialties, details a little bit about what it means to him to make some of the best accessories available in the automotive aftermarket. “If my business was run by a bunch of accountants, this product line wouldn’t be half the size it is. That’s because a lot of the products that we make and that we do put out to the consumer are being put out because of my passion and what I want to put into the hot rod world,” Glenn explained.

The production process is messy, but their products are stunning. It's amazing to see what craftsmanship and ingenuity can create.

It’s about name recognition. Glenn want’s people to recognize Billet Specialties as a company that goes out of it’s way to make an extra effort for the consumer. They don’t make a product to enhance their bottom line, they make it to enhance the hot-rodding community. It’s Glenn’s passion that has gatapulted them into the position they are, and it’s his passion that continues drive the production of their iconic products.

There is no shortage of orders at Billet Specialties! Have you ever seen so many wheels in one place?

There is also a big emphasis at Billet Specialties on their in-house production that starts at design rendering and ends at the finished product. Everything is done under the same roof. “When you get something that’s good – and you know it’s good – you don’t need anyone to tell you it’s good. You know and feel it in your heart,” Glen detailed. “We might be able to make a wheel or other product faster, but you know what, if that product doesn’t meet our standards, we are not going to do it.”

Billet Specialties’ products remains 100-percent American made. “I believe in our American manufacturing,” Glenn said. “This country is a great country, we developed automation in this country, we’ve done great things in this country. If you are going to lay your head down and quit, then you’re going to lose.” It’s all about remaining relevant and keeping production in the U.S., where the hot-rodding culture started and has grown into what it is today.

While Billet Specialties has even moved into the exotic and import accessory world, they are true to their roots. “I would have to say that hot rods are still my passion. I started there,” Glenn said. “I’ve owned exoticts, but in the end, I’m a hot rod guy at heart.”

Although Billet Specialties has wandered into the world of import and exotic parts, they haven't forgotten their heritage and what it means to build a hot rod. It's important to Glenn that they stick with what they know, but also keep developing as the industry moves forward. They need to keep innovating to stay competitive, and that let's them offer the quality products they do.

So, the next time you’re looking to get the latest and/or coolest part for your classic, be sure to check out what Billet Specialties has to offer. It’s made in America, and it’s made for you.

Just because Billet Specialties has become involved in making wheels and parts for imports and exotic cars, don’t ever think they’ve lost their passion for hot rods.
