The corkscrew at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca might be the most feared set of turns in all of road racing. It strikes fear into the heart of some drivers when they crest the hill leading into the entry of the corkscrew, while others simply love every second of driving through it.
Regardless of some driver’s thoughts on the set of turns, it is arguably one of the most fun set of turns in all of racing. If you ever have the chance to take your car of choice to Laguna Seca you have to do it! But for the rest of us that may never have the chance, we have to live vicariously through TV and on-board videos.

This is exactly what our friends at Centerforce Clutches gave us when they posted a link to Andy Lee’s on-board video from the infamous track. Andy’s 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS competes in the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge, and the Camaro SS is equipped with a Centerforce DYAD DS Multi-Disc Clutch system.
Lee is a driving instructor at Bondurant High Performance Driving School, and it is clear from the video that he knows what he is doing as he takes on Laguna Seca. You can see him tackle the infamous corkscrew around the 1:10 mark of the video. Just look at how much he gains on the Acura infront of him through the corkscrew.
Lee would start the event in 20th place and by lap 2 would already be in 16th. But unfortunately for Lee he would retire from the event after only 14 laps due to mechanical issues.
