From dirt-lot donuts to videos like this one, off-road hooning will never get old. Sure, on pavement you get smoke, burnt rubber, and tire squeal, but it’s just a whole different kind of cool watching machines literally throw the earth out from underneath them – be it dirt, sand or snow.
In this video, we see a gnarly Toyota Supra and one badass C6 doing just that while stretching their legs a bit on a Russian backroad. While the pair aren’t moving at blistering speeds and the stunts aren’t necessarily mind-blowing, there’s just something about the video that we find genuinely amusing.
The snowy, pristine scenery provides a pleasant backdrop to the two powerhouses kicking around the masses of snow and ice. Watching the cars glide around like a couple of figure skaters – getting within inches of each other at times – kept a smile on our face for the full three minutes.
But, of course, that smile was owing in part to the Corvette’s presence – there’s always something captivating about seeing a ‘Vette go sideways. Given the nature of their owners and the fact that it’s such a composed, well-mannered car, it’s not too often that we’re shown a Corvette (especially the big-bodied C6) kicking its back end out and power-sliding around long, sweeping bends.
And on such a narrow, ice-laden road, pulling it off is no easy task. Both drivers are showing some commendable control, flicking the heavy cars around at will.
We would’ve preferred a bit less punk rock and bit more of the cars’ own voices to accompany the footage, but all in all – from the location to the car choice to the driving itself – we think this video just about hits the spot.
