We have been writing the Wrecked Vette Wednesday (WVW) segments for sometime now, and while it always stings a little to see your favorite car in disrepair or completely totaled, we have learned a few things. To begin with, we just cannot stop ourselves from looking, and secondly we find the car transformations to be rather fascinating considering the amount of force exerted upon them.
While our sources rarely include any information on the driver and passengers, we always wish them well and hope the included safety equipment enabled them to return home safely. That being said, this car doesn’t appear to have much in the way of factory installed safety equipment simply based on its age. Additionally, the car’s odometer reads that it had under 93,000 miles at the time of the incident, though we are unaware if the odometer has run past 99,999 and restarted.
From most of the exterior and interior pictures, this Corvette looks like an odd fit for a WVW feature, and in fact looks to be quite clean and in good repair. However, things take a serious turn when you lay your eyes upon the driver’s side.
This 1968 C3 appears to have taken quite the side impact, completely removing or disintegrating the door. Additionally, there appears to be some mechanical damage as the rear driver’s side wheel has a serious case of negative toe.
The car is reported to “start with a jump,” and considering the rest of the car’s condition, we hope that somebody takes the car in and restores her to her former glory.
