About a month ago, we brought you an update on LG Motorsports’ body-in-white [red] Camaro dubbed the ZR28. Well it’s time for another update, and it seems that the boys have the body-in-white all decked out and ready to run.
In fact, over the past month or so, Lou Gigliotti & Co. has been planning to make their return to the SCCA World Challenge in their #28 Camaro, and they recently ran their first event at Long Beach. There were still a few bugs to work out with the new LG Camaro, but with their recent success of becoming second in the number of wins ever in the series, and claiming a total of three championships to boot, we think the LG gang will surely be a force to be reckoned with through out this season.
LG has also been busy on the home front testing with yet another 5th Gen at Eagle’s Canyon Raceway, near the LG headquarters in north Texas. LG recently posted this video of one of their test sessions with their modded 2011 SS, which will eventually lead to the development of more parts based on what they learn from the car. (Be sure to watch at around the 1:20 point, where one of the GoPro’s goes launching off the car and lands in the grass.) LG’s racing efforts in both the World Challenge Series and at home in Texas are nothing but a good thing for 5th Gen Camaro owners, because the trick equipment they create for their race cars could someday find its way on to your ride.
