We’ve featured a few LS swapped Cadillacs in the past, like this Vortec 5.3 liter V8 swapped ’64 Coupe de Ville. Or this 5.7 liter LS1 V8 swapped ’57 Coupe de Ville. While today’s LS powered Coupe de Ville has some similarities as the two examples above, we think this particular one which is brought to us by BigKleib34 via YouTube, might be a little different than the rest.

This particular Cadillac in the video above is a fifth generation Coupe de Ville, which puts it between the years of ’77-’84. The owner of this de Ville explains that he built the existing engine in the car, with the original V8 being bored out to a 515 cubic-inch. When the owner got bored with the engine and the power it was making, he then decided that it was time to go faster.

So how does one decide they want to go faster? Do they keep building the current engine, or do they source a new power plant? The owner decided to go with the latter, rather than the former. He swapped in a 6.0 liter LS V8 engine and strapped a 200 shot worth of NOS to it.

We were rather surprised when the owner revealed the now “new” LS engine had 400,000 miles on the stock short block, which he chose to use for the new setup. The owner seemed rather confident, though. Even with that many miles, the combination of the LS engine, a 200 shot of NOS, a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, and a 9-inch Moser center section was enough to hurl this big-bodied Cadillac down the quarter mile at only 10.89 seconds at 122.7 mph.

We’d love to see more of this 10-second de Ville, as we’re quite interested in hearing how long that 400,000 mile stock short block will hold up for.
