As you read this the guys at Ridetech are right in the middle of an epic thrash to create what they call “The World’s Fastest Built Camaro” by taking a very nice, but very common 67 Camaro and adding the best bolt-on components the aftermarket has to offer in just 48 short hours. One of the major themes of this project is displaying how easily all of these components are to install, even by the average enthusiast in his own garage. Once the 48 hour wrench-fest is completed on May 18th, the team will road trip the car to the Goodguys Show in Nashville, where they will properly break the car in by punishing it in a series of performance driving tests.
At the heart of the 48 Hour Camaro is a Lingenfelter LS3, sporting a COMP Cams valve train, and Holley’s new modular intake manifold and swap oil pan. The power will get transferred to the lightweight Forgeline GA3 wheels by a Muncie 4-speed with a Gear Vendors overdrive and a Moser 12 bolt. The amount of high-end aftermarket parts going into this build is incredibly impressive, and should make for some equally impressive performance.
So, who needs 72 hours to transform a classic car from mild to wild when 48 hours will do? And why watch an edited and overly dramatized 1 hour show when you can see the progress unfold live via streaming video right now? Check out all the latest updates at www.48hourcamaro.com.
