When MSD Ignition decided to put together a concept car to show off some of their products, they knew they had a number of top notch partners to work with. Concept cars have a limited lifetime, regardless of how well they’re put together, so eventually they have to go.

This would have been fun, but eventually a supercharged Nickens Performance 408 went under the hood.
In this case, you won;’t have to wait for one of the big collector car events, but just watch eBay Autos during the period of June 4-to-13. What you’ll be looking for is a ’05 Cadillac CTS-V that has been extensively modified by MSD’s engineers, as well as other project participants.
Flying the MSD company colors, this project uses a Procharger supercharged 408cui, LS-2 based engine from Nickens Performance, fired by MSD’s powerful Multiple Spark Coils through 8.5mm Super Conductor wires.
Keeping the engine’s 700-horsepower at peak condition is the 6LS Ignition Controller, wired in for advanced control over the ignition curve, retards and rev limits. A McLeod clutch, Kooks headers and Corsa exhaust all do their part in keeping the lick in the right pedal.
The CTS-V’s independent rear suspension was also fortified with suspension pieces BMR Fabrication, so that power can get to the pavement reliably.
Overall, this is a top drawer project car that you might want to keep an eye on when it shows up on eBay. A lot of regular Joe’s would shy away this one because of thei highly modified nature of the car. However, we know that it has been done right and that adds a lot to what is a unique, one-off piece of modern American muscle.
