Back in April we brought you a story about the 30 plus newly released 2011 Camaro SS Convertibles that were brought in to serve as the Parade Vehicles at the NASCAR Samsung Mobile 500 Sprint Cup Race at Texas Motor Speedway. At that time the first convertible 5th Gen’s had just made their debut, and the massive line of gleaming black Camaros lined up on the raceway made for an incredibly impressive sight and an noteworthy addition to the history of the Camaro.
Now, all of you NASCAR fans have a chance to pick up one of those shiny black convertibles for yourself. We recently found one of the TMS Convertibles for sale on Ebay, offered by James Wood Chevrolet, in Decatur, Texas. Interestingly enough, the car has only clocked a paltry 20 miles on the odometer, meaning it has spent a good portion of its very short life toting a Sprint-Cup-Super-Star in front of the grandstands at Texas Motor Speedway. The car is an automatic/L99 and still has all the same massive Chevy bow-tie emblems on the hood and doors, as well as the James Wood Chevrolet insignia on the doors. It is also marked with the number 20 on the windshield. Perhaps one of our savvy readers out there can tell us what driver rode in the car.
So, if you’re into collector cars, or if you’ve been on the fence about buying a new Camaro, here’s a chance to get a 5th Gen that comes with a little bit of NASCAR history behind it.
