2019 Chevrolet Camaro Color Palette Released

According to the guys over at GM Authority, It looks like the mid-cycle refresh of the Camaro finally has a color palette and, in keeping with what we’ve already seen thus far, the options are less than impressive. The first thing we noticed is that Hyper Blue, a seemingly universal crowd favorite, is nowhere to be seen. And the colors that are available seem somewhat drab, though new colors could be coming down the pike as well.

In 2018, Camaro buyers had a choice of 11 different tones whereas seven have officially been released for the 2019 model. This likely means more hues are on the way, but the absence of Hyper Blue is the most striking — and frankly disturbing — to us. The 2019 Camaro made its debut in “Riverside Blue Metallic”, a similar but less striking tint coat.

While there is hope that Hyper Blue is waiting in the wings, in all likelihood it has seen its last paint gun. The finishes being offered for the 2019 Camaro are:

  • Black
  • Mosaic Black Metallic
  • Garnet Red Tintcoat
  • Red Hot
  • Satin Steel Grey Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Riverside Blue Metallic

And though we will deeply miss Hyper Blue if it doesn’t turn up, the “Riverside Blue” the SS debuted in did the car no favors. We’ve since seen many pictures of the car in different colors and the added contrast definitely helps the car out in many ways. In fact, it leaves us wondering why the General didn’t see fit to provide the line with a few more punchy selections. For hell’s sake, the Corvette has bolder colors and its main demographic is… skews slightly more senior.

We hate to even bring it up, but when compared with Dodge’s lineup of hues, it seems downright unfair. While we don’t necessarily prefer our Chevrolet’s smothered in the latest “look at me colors,” several shades are currently offered on the Corvette that would do wonders for the 2019 Camaro—and even that’s not saying much.

We’ll just have to wait and see — and possibly pray a little — that some bolder colors are coming down the line. For the full color line up, check out GM Authority’s article here
