Check out this 3:00 AM smash up in Philly involving a Impala police cruiser, a 20-year-old Lexus and a late model Camaro. Upon learning that both civilian drivers were unlicensed, we thought maybe some kids snuck some cars out late at night for a little joy ride. You know the drill – wait until Mom and Pop turn in for the night then push the car out of the driveway and go cruise the town. What could possibly go wrong? Plenty, as this CBS/Philly YouTube video shows.
Looks like two cops in the Impala were hustling a man with three gunshot wounds to the hospital when they collided with the Lexus and then bounced off a pretty sweet late model white Camaro with red stripes. All three cars were totaled and five people including both policemen were injured and taken to the Temple University hospital. Be sure and check out the lovely Philadelphia neighborhood too, with mostly vacant, boarded up buildings. Good times.
Looks like these two unlicensed 29-year-old drivers were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whether the cars were stolen will come out in the wash soon enough, but we’re guessing that if you’re running around in that neighborhood at that time of night, you’re probably not headed to start your shift taking care of kids at the orphanage.
We could care less about the Lexus but what about the newish Camaro? A moment of silence for the fallen pony, please. We don’t know what the story is yet, but the two drivers have a lot of explaining to do.
Funny, nothing much happens to folks who are in bed at 3:00 AM…
