Turbosmart is well known in the boosted performance industry as being reliable and for making big performance in a small package. One way that they have answered the call of the wild when it comes to boost is to help control it to keep turbos spooled up.
When you plot it against your manifold and drive pressure, you now can figure out exactly how the motor is coming into boost.. -Marty Staggs
At the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Indiana they introduced some new products to keep up with the demand from the turbo and supercharged racing enthusiasts. One product that they showed us was their wastegate travel sensor option. This wastegate is designed for racers that want to monitor the wastegate’s opening time via a bolt-in 0-5 volt sensor. If you already have a wastegate, Turbosmart will sell just the upper hat.
Their new Sensor Gates are designed for datalogging. Marty Staggs said, “These are machined to accept a travel position sensor so you can datalog the valve travel and its position. When you plot it against your manifold and drive pressure, you now can figure out exactly how the motor is coming into boost.”
Big Bubba Blow Off Valve
Big Bubba is a recent release from Turbosmart and they brought it out to the show as well. They wanted to show that even though they can make big performance in a small package, sometimes you just gotta go big, and Big Bubba is it. Designed for big horsepower and high boost turbo and supercharger or turbo applications, it clearly dwarfs the competition.
With new products to help control and datalog your turbocharger’s performance, it can help you to tune your system for optimum efficiency and boost. Check out the Turbosmart web site for more information on BOVs, boost controllers, and wastegates to keep your engine underpressure.
