PRI 2014: CV Products Introduces New X2 Line of Steel Valves

CV Products has introduced a new X2 line of stainless-steel valves to complement its titanium valves currently marketed under the well-known Xceldyne brand.

“We wanted to give the customer a steel option,”  says Rob Celendano of CV Products.

All X2 steel valves are manufactured with the same attention to detail as the Xceldyne line of titanium products.

A wide range of sizes are available for Chevy small-block, big-block and LS platforms. Most applications will have a choice of radius or square lock groove. Additional features include a weight-saving dish design, laser-engraved valve face for easy ID and a swirl-polished profile. Custom lengths and designs will be offered soon as CV Products continues to add new valve blanks.

“We’re leveraging 26 years of experience in providing parts to Formula 1, NASCAR and NHRA racers,”  adds Celendano. “X2 will have the same quality control requirements, tolerances and finishing as the titanium line.”

Three materials will be used in the X2 line: Inconel for some exhaust applications; X33, a stainless steel with 35 percent alloy and higher percentage of nickel that is also used in exhaust applications; and X53, a stainless steel with various alloy elements designed for intake valves.

In addition to steel valves, the X2 line includes a choice of steel or titanium retainers and a wide range of lifter choices.

CV Products will also supply titanium or steel retainers optimized for the X2 valves. Additional products marketed under the X2 brand include 4130 chromoly 1-piece pushrods and a wide range of lifters, including hydraulic roller, mechanical roller and flat tappet.

“These products are geared toward the sportsman racer,” sums up Celendano. “They’ll fit right in on dirt tracks and the drag strip.”
