There’s no denying that GM’s LT platform has been widely accepted by the automotive aftermarket. Here at PRI, that is abundantly apparent with the number of hardcore LT-oriented new products on display. We found one such product in T&D Machine Products’ booth.

“Our LT rocker arm is made from billet chromoly steel, are fully adjustable, and are designed to be a complete bolt-on,” says Sheldon Miller of T&D Machine Products. “They are the stock 1.80:1 ratio, and are designed to just drop on, measure pushrod length and go beat the heck out of it.”

Stemming from issues encountered by early LT adopters who were pushing significant boost pressures and large quantities of nitrous oxide, T&D saw that the stock cast rocker arm just simply wasn’t up to the task, when it came to that level of use. To that end, these aren’t simply stock-design arms made from a better material, but have had a number of key improvements made.

“The standard bearing in these rocker arms is a fully-caged needle bearing. We also offer a bushing option, if guys want to go that route,” Miller says. “We also came up with an ARP2000 bolt that ARP designed for us, to get rid of some of the fastener issues that exist in the LT/LS world.”

Aimed at across-the-board performance, there is no task these rocker arms aren’t up to, according to Miller. “Being billet chromoly, you can do just about anything you want to the rocker and not hurt it.”

In order to solve common issues with the OEM fasteners, T&D tapped ARP to design a new rocker bolt. Made of ARP2000 material, it successfully alleviates the known LT/LS issues.
