Classic Industries played host to the unveiling of one of the hottest Camaros at this year’s SEMA show – The SLP Specialty Vehicles 2015 Yenko/SC 427 Camaro.
Based on Chevrolet’s ZL1 Camaro coupe or convertible, the Yenko packs a supercharged 427 cubic inch LS7 engine under the hood delivering 700 horsepower. The TVS 2300 supercharger peaks at 10 PSI, and the factory speed limiter has been lifted, allowing an estimated top speed of 205 MPH.
The Yenko retains the ZL1’s Magnetic Ride Control active suspension system, upgraded with lowering springs and tuned anti-roll bars. Six-piston brake calipers with 14.6-inch front rotors are encased by 5-spoke wheels in a gunmetal finish with a machined lip, set off by custom sYc center caps. The wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires with raised white lettering for a classic look.
Of course, the first thing bystanders will notice is the styling, from the RTM hood to the sYc graphics and Yenko badging. Inside, custom upholstery, floor mats, and other touches abound. Per SLP’s David Hamburger, “There’s nowhere on this car that you can look without seeing the Yenko name.”
The Yenko/SC carres a one year, 12,000 mile engine and supercharger assembly warranty, and a three year, 36,000 mile non powertrain component limited warranty. Automatic and manual transmission versions will be available, and although just 50 of these sequentially-numbered instant classics will be produced, getting one for yourself will be as simple as ordering up the exact Camaro you want from your local Chevy dealer.
