On our way through the 2017 SEMA Show, we came across our friends at Canton Racing Products. The company is known for its innovation, and that can be seen once again in its oil pan for LS-swapped Chevy S-10s.
We spoke with Jeff Behuniak to explore this product in depth. “The small-block Chevy has been a popular swap for some time, but more and more, small-block swaps are turning into LS swaps,” he explained.
“The S-10 has been a popular platform for LS swaps for a long time. We think it will fill a niche and sell as well as our small-block offerings. It just makes sense to us.”
Starting with a standard LS-style oil pan, the S-10 pan’s dimensions fit the engine perfectly. “There are no crossmember clearance issues or anything like that,” said Behuniak. “It has a pan-mounted dipstick, too. This way, users don’t have to worry about fitting the old stock one in.”
On top of this, the pan is powdercoated for protection. This makes it ideal for applications that will be seeing use in the outdoors, where the elements can eat away at bare metal.
“We like to have that durability in place for the customer,” commented Behuniak.
For S-10 owners, an oil pan like this is a great way to keep the LS engine running efficiently for the road or trail ahead. Find out more by visiting Canton’s website today.
