A Look at the Latest AEM Infinity Software Update Features

The tuning gurus at AEM Electronics have announced a suite of enhancements coming to the Infinity ECU platform as well as the InfinityTuner software, both of which usher in a host of new capabilities for the system.

V96.1 firmware version is now available and delivers several new and enhanced features for the V2.96.7154 InfinityTuner software released in October 2014. These include the addition of 128 standard Infinity specific channels on the CAN bus, a new rolling launch 2-step anti-lag feature, expanded user-adjustable fuel trim, ignition advance trim, Lambda target trim, 3-step, drive-by-wire and boost control tuning capabilities, and a new oil temp engine protection strategy. It also includes new support for the following applications:

Ford Modular 4.6L/5.4L 2-Valve SOHC engine, factory DBW throttle control supported if equipped
Ford Modular 4.6L/5.4L 3-Valve SOHC engine, factory VCT and DBW throttle control supported
Ford Modular 4.6L/5.4L 4-Valve DOHC engine, factory DBW throttle control supported if equipped
1994-1996 Nissan SR20DET engine
1989-2003 Nissan RB26DETT engine
2006-2015 Mazda 2.0L MZR engine
2002-2007 Suzuki GSX-R 1300 Hayabusa
Universal 8-1 cam/crank timing pattern
Upgraded Nissan VQ35 timing pattern for improved starting

On the tuner’s side, V2.96.8202 software enhancements include a number of new features focused at making the tuner more user friendly and intuitive:

Global Unit Preferences
- Unit Preference changes are now made globally throughout the software program
New Right-Click Menu Speeds Editing of 1D and 2D Tables
- Users can now right-click to make simple changes to 1D and 2D tables
More Efficient Channel Select Menu for Improved Efficiency
- Revised dialogue box for USB and Multiple Channel Selection that is more intuitive and easy to use
New Help Feature
- The Infinity tuning guide is now available in InfinityTuner software. Pressing F1 will launch the Tuning Guide, which then highlights and displays information about the page of the Wizard that is being used
