Call us crazy, but as much as we love the new Camaro and think everyone should have one, it would appear that the powers-that-be in Precinct 3 of Montgomery County, Texas are playing a little dirty pool. As pointed out by our friends over at Jalopnik, they have a new Camaro, as we assume they’re enjoying it, but if we didn’t know better it would appear that they’ve got the ultimate bait and switch machine.

Their 2010 Camaro has a silver Transformers logo at the peak of its hood, but that’s not because it’s a member of the Autobots. It’s actually a police cruiser, and before you tell “entrapment” you should know that it technically is marked as a cruiser.

The only problem is that markings on the car are all ghosted-out black-on-black graphics, which on a black car are none to easy to see. It also has a set of clear strobe lights hidden behind the grille. This is one Transformer Camaro that we’d rather not meet, even if it’s here to serve and protect.

Now that we think about it, there was an evil Decepticon in the form of a pony car in the original 2007 Transformers movie, but it wasn’t the Bumblebee Camaro; it was a 2005 Saleen Mustang. In the movie it was named Barricade and was a little more well labeled than than the 2010 Camaro you see here.

Sure, it was evil and wanted to defeat all of humanity, but at least we knew where it was coming from. The Camaro from Montgomery County isn’t even doing that honor. We’d hate to think that it’s preying on innocent hot rodders.
