Cadillac used to be synonymous with Grandpa and golf, but this CTS-V would give Gramps a heart attack. Thanks to Jalopnik for posting a video of a nasty-fast 2009 CTS-V.
This four-door sedan blasted down Palm Beach International Raceway, running a 9.85 @ 139.7 MPH on drag radials. Dragtimes.com provided the time slip details and further information on the car. A progressive 200 shot of nitrous helps the engine propel this monster down the track. Forged internals help the engine withstand the force of the nitrous and factory supercharger.
The 1.54 60-foot time was reasonable for being on drag radials and not slicked down. Even the factory transmission and converter are still in the car, despite making 865 horsepower and 850 ft-lbs of torque to the tires. Helping to add to the horsepower and torque numbers are a set of Kooks headers, different supercharger pulleys, an LPE CAI and an LS3 throttle body.
Next time you pull up next to one these CTS-V’s at a stoplight watch out, because your new Corvette might just receive an education. Sure, these cars are fast right off the lot, but they are also very mod-friendly. Just because it has four doors does not mean it is stock.
