At the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, Chevrolet Europe President and Managing Director, Wayne Brannon, filmed this video announcing that the 5th Gen Camaro would officially be for sale in Chevrolet dealerships across Europe. Brannon really pushes the performance aspect of the car, telling potential buyers, “It’s also a fantastic performance vehicle as well. We’ve got a car that will do 0-100 kilometers (62 MPH) per hour in 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kilometers (155 MPH) per hour. It’s going on sale in Germany right now, with an introductory price for the coupe of 38,990 Euros, and for the convertible at 43,990 Euros.” That translates to $52,605 in ‘Merican money for the Camaro coupe, and $59,351 for the convertible!
Chevrolet in Europe also recently released a new commercial on YouTube to celebrate the Camaro’s availability in Europe. In the opening shot of the video, the text reads, “Camaro, an Icon Reborn” and the video goes on to play on a bit of “sibling rivalry” between the 5th Gen coupe and convertible, and features some great shots of the two cars in action.
In the final shot, as you would expect, a Chevy Bowtie pops up, but without the American Slogan – “Chevy Runs Deep.” Instead of trying to stir a nostalgic tie to the brand, which obviously wouldn’t work outside the US – the European slogan urges potential buyers to make the most of their opportunities, simply reading, “Chevrolet; Make It Happen”
